The TMES Read-a-thon is here! This is our BIG FUNDRAISER to raise funds for materials to students and TMES teachers in online learning! Prizes will be given to all students who participate, with prizes awarded for both reading winners and fundraising winners!

Here’s how it works:

SECURE SPONSORS AND DONATIONS

Set up your personalized Read-a-Thon website using the link provided by TMES, and start collecting donations from friends and family online. Sponsors can provide donations per minute read or just a flat donations. Donations will be accepted through October 18.

READ! READ! READ!
For two weeks, our students will be asked to record their daily reading time on their Read-a-Thon personalized website. You can enter the time online or time your reading through the website. All types of reading will count: silent reading, reading to others, classroom reading, or being read to by family or friends.

It doesn’t matter what the students read: books, newspapers, magazines, graphic novels or the back of cereal boxes. Reading on Kindles, computers and tablets count too!

WHAT PRIZES WILL STUDENTS GET TO HELP US REACH OUR GOAL?

  • EVERY STUDENT who sets up a personalized Read-a-Thon account and gets online donations, will pick prizes from the Read-a-Thon website store. The more money raised, the larger the prize!
  • In each class, the student with the highest number of minutes read will win $10 in Scholastic bucks to use at the schoolbook fair!
  • For each grade, the child who reads the most wins a $25 Amazon gift card!
  • For K-2 and 3-5, the child who reads the most wins $50 in Scholastic bucks to use at the spring book fair!
  • And the class that raises the most money overall will win a big virtual prize of their choice! Options include virtual games, Zoom sessions with the principal or vice-principal, virtual dance party, etc.
